Absolutely. What they tell us as volunteers at domestic violence shelters is, rape is about power and control. It's literally nothing to do with sex. It's not about connection, it's not about pleasure, it's not even really about getting off. It's about controlling someone else.

A lot of people, men especially but really people of every gender, really are after the feeling of controlling someone else. They think that desire is sexual desire, which just makes me sad.
