Anyone who needs to believe we control our lives and destinies is basically operating from a childlike mindset. They’re usually white and very privileged. They can’t handle the idea that their successes are because of circumstances beyond their control.
These people cannot handle reality. If you try, they’ll accuse you of committing all sorts of imaginary crimes that add up to “intruding on their version of reality.”
