At my first social media internship, they gave me literally zero direction regarding their social media except “use your judgment.” Mind, this was an UNPAID INTERNSHIP. I clearly had no experience. But sure. Judgment.
The organization fired me three weeks later for posting content that did not meet with their standards.
The same standards that were neither communicated directly nor written down anywhere at any point.
I refuse to be anyone’s scapegoat.
