Definitely agree.

I think a victim mentality looks different in men than it does women. We're not trained necessarily as a society to look for it.

I just think that men need to take responsibility for themselves, the same as I'd like to see women do. They need to do their own dishes, wash their sheets, name and assert sensible boundaries with the people in their lives that allow all participants to thrive as individuals. They also need to take responsibility for mistakes they make, and name their emotional needs or communicate them assertively, and accept the consequences when they don't and those needs consequently don't get met.

It's so sad to watch a man who can't name what he needs, lets other people walk all over him, tries to people-please to make relationships work, then feels resentful and violated and ends up taking it out on anyone he views as less powerful than himself.
