It is unfortunately true that the guys who immediately found me attractive tended to also put me on a pedestal, fall over themselves in foolish ways and then behave harmfully to try to feel in control again, and ultimately behave in immature, harmful, damaging ways because of their own insecurity.

Looks includes hygiene and various forms of self-care. People who are constantly struggling and never seek any form of help or support, people who have no idea what their problems really are and don't want to know, people who have deep traumas they deny or run from, are people who are not able to give their full selves to a partner.
