I’m white-passing but my mother is a woman of color. So at this moment I identify as biracial.
Racial dynamics are complicated in the Jewish community because our ethnicity involves different racial identities. Many people with Eastern European Jewish heritage have darker skin and a nonwhite racial background. That’s how my mother came to be.
