Female people are defined by our wombs from birth to death. Are we old enough to get pregnant? Have we been pregnant? When was our last period? Could we possibly be pregnant? How about now? Do we have any one of a dozen terrible diseases or syndromes that happen to women “of childbearing age”? Oh, look, now we can’t get pregnant anymore, our life is over!
