First wave was fighting for voting rights. Second wave was a movement led by housewives fighting for domestic violence, sexual harassment, and acquaintance rape to be a crime.
Crappy marketing aside, most of the rights we take for granted today as women came from feminism.
And most of the women fighting for those rights were like Elizabeth Cady Stanton or Sojourner Truth, married with kids at the time.
Call yourself a feminist or don’t. But if you’ve ever needed an abortion or filed a rape charge or voted or taken out a credit card, thank the feminists who made that possible.
