I agree. Talking more about a diagnosis does not in itself decrease stigma. That's especially true when people claiming to have expertise talk only about the negative sides of a diagnosis, or the harm that it does. I think Borderline in particular is such an interesting one. This diagnosis is linked to the experience of severe trauma, and yet borderlines are treated like villains--rather like survivors of sexual abuse are treated like potential sexual abusers rather than victims, regardless of how we actually behave or how other people behave towards us. Stigmatizing someone makes it far more likely that they will be further harmed, at which point they are easy to blame.
