I agree that most mental illness is early trauma manifesting itself when it goes untreated. Children should be screened regularly for specific traumas, at the very least, for bullying and DV and CSA. It’s insane that they’re not, given the mental and physical problems caused later.
But that would mean confronting parents about their abusive behavior and this society is built on Christian values, so.
