I appreciate that you took the time to respond. But I think the very fact that you are positing this as an individual, internal problem, to be solved through individual transformative means like therapy, is part of the problem. A big part.
Judaism has been patriarchal from the beginning. It is baked into the bones of the religion. Your response totally dodges the problem and turns it into one of “choosing better men.” They are all imbued with patriarchy. They are all “bad.” They all need to change.
I need rights. I need equity. I need to exist in a culture that views me as equal and equally important.
Therapy won’t fix it.
It’s shameful that the problem of structural sexism is treated like a problem internal to my mind.
