I appreciated this article, even as a woman.
Women are taught basically from birth to empathize with other people's perspectives and to prioritize relationships. Men are taught basically from birth to prioritize facts and objective (or pseudo objective) information, and to not question their own perspectives. Now that women are beginning to want more emotional support from our partners, these conflicting expectations are a recipe for disaster. Women need to learn to help men gain these skills, but men also have to be committed to trying--and men have to learn that relationships can and will be much, much better when they try.
