I can definitely relate to the fact that once I started dressing up for work in clothes that feel good to me, and wearing more makeup, putting up my hair etc. suddenly my colleagues started treating me differently. They respected me more, but also acted like they'd all collectively decided I was a huge snob overnight. It was really obvious, and really disappointing, especially since I mostly worked with women at the time.
We need to do whatever makes us feel right and helps us pursue our dreams. If that means wearing makeup and looking glamorous sometimes, other people need to freaking deal with us, instead of trying to tear us down.
