I definitely would like to believe that I will one day meet a man who will like me for who and what I am, not what I look like. I don't really care what he looks like either.

However, in the meantime--I am SO SICK of the idea that women need to force ourselves to look like models, whereas men can get away with taking a shower and putting on a polo shirt!

I look at my own community, and I see men who are accomplished, who are fighting it out for top-level positions in their fields..and I see women who are settling for low five-figure salaries in teaching and human resources, who spend most of their time trying to look good rather than trying to have something interesting to say or useful to contribute.

Men pursue these women then wonder why they experience relationships as vapid and useless. Women invest wholeheartedly in looking good then wonder why life seems pointless without a man.

It's all a dang mess.
