I disagree. Great art speaks to the mores of the time. Great art does something beautiful for the world. At the time, Whedon did pick up the lack of female representation and move the line forward. However, the world has changed. Now we can look back on his behavior and see it for what it is. At the time, I doubt anyone would particularly have cared that he abused or fucked with women on his sets.
