I don't know about this. So many people move between being poly and monogamous at different choices in their lives. Besides that, I'm never personally going to support people who choose one primary partner but maintain lots of additional partnerships that are varying degrees of casual or intimate. The likelihood that someone is going to get screwed over, and that the person who does is going to be the person with the least power in the room, is too high.

Poly without power analysis is just patriarchy giving people with the money and social clout to sustain close romantic ties, the power to then extend that social clout even further over others.
