I feel like this is yet one more situation in which Black women have constructed a terminology and theoretical basis that also describes my life, but of course to a lesser degree.

I have experienced a similar situation as a fat woman and disabled woman. I’m cute and my otherness is tolerated until I speak up or suggest new ideas rooted in my own expertise, then my bosses freak out.

But I also see how much worse these situations are for black women. In my most recent office environment, my former boss blamed the craziness on the black woman who formerly did my job. Guess whose fault it all actually was?
