I fundamentally don't understand how so many men can watch children be rounded up at the border, women be sex trafficked, and men be terrorized and put to death, and cry a million tears....but when a woman in their own community is raped, they are filled with excuses.

Why do men see themselves in rapists, and not see themselves in women?

And why do men perceive women to be potential perpetrators of violence who must be put down like dogs, in spite of the fact that the reverse is so typically true?

Most fully, why do so many men feel utterly no responsibility to be aware of or change their own sexist beliefs?
