I really appreciated reading this piece.
We desperately need more men to be willing to do this type of self reflection.
I think that men are taught to view women as video game creations—input code x, extract sex, emotional support, whatever.
If they don’t get what they want, they get belligerent and aggressive, or resentful and sulky. I rarely see the investment in working through problems that is necessary to build and maintain a relationship.
Women can’t shoulder men’s burdens or loan them our interpersonal skills any more than men can live our careers for us.
