I spent too much time reading books written by women who reluctantly called themselves feminists and wanted to share their secrets to success..who didn’t count being born white and conventionally pretty, thin, middle-class, cis, and hetero.

Their advice for how to navigate the workplace is somewhat useful, sure. But the access that most women have to success is mitigated by realities of our lives that we don’t have control over, like racism and marginalization. Plenty of companies these days are eager to hire more women..but not fat, disabled, working class women, ya know?
