I think it’s absolutely true that beauty is in the eye of the beholder. I’ve fallen in love with men who I wouldn’t have looked at twice if I’d seen their profile on a dating site.

But if I’m just looking at a guy’s profile, yeah, I’m judging by looks. That’s about all that’s there.

Also my experience is that most guys are jerks and most women aren’t so great either. I think there are just a ton of jerks out there.
