I think it’s unfortunate that mental health providers feel such a need to distance themselves from uncomfortable disorders like BPD. Sufferers who’ve experienced extreme abuse are then sucked into a mental health system with no compassion for them and minimal understanding of how to effectively intervene. Psychologists don’t know how to treat trauma, and their attempts are typically retraumatizing.
