I think other people always have stuff going on we don’t know about. Guys seem to consistently assume I’m like Estella from Great Expectations when really I’m just someone who lives in a society that has taught me I have no value. When I act accordingly and seem disconnected or callous, guys call me crazy or manipulative. I’m not, just shattered.

That said, people who deliberately lead others on are committing a kind of emotional abuse. We should see it that way. Just because it’s a socially acceptable kind of harm doing doesn’t mean it’s actually okay.
