I think stories like this are potentially dangerous when they don’t provide readers with tools to distinguish between people who play the victim, and people who actually are victims. Many of us actually have survived severe childhood abuse, or do experience current forms of exploitation. That does not make us narcissists.

Plenty of people struggle to accept that marginalization or structural oppression exists. I don’t need these people to have one more pseudo-scientific weapon to use against us.
