I’m still teaching myself that I’m allowed to not play this role in relationships with other people, particularly with men.

I find myself doing this even in work relationships. Men seem to expect it and other women get upset when I don’t do it.

But when I do it, I don’t have energy to work towards my own goals.

There’s a real cost in coercing women to care for others at the cost of our dreams.
