I think any kind of abuse is awful.

I also think that in a culture that excuses child abuse, the inevitable result is more abuse. Boys are emotionally abused at home, so they taunt girls; children are molested, so they molest others.

I don’t mean that your story counts less because of this truth. I mean rather that children are being set up to have these traumatic experiences and not protected.
