Jews are a distinct ethnicity. I’ve had my 23nMe done, and they can distinguish Jewish heritage from other kinds of heritage. We’ve lived apart from/been ostracized from others enough that our genetic heritage is different. So that’s important.
Second, about Race. Race is a social construct, which doesn’t mean race does not exist. It means race matters because modern human society has decided that it matters and uses it as the basis for organizing our society.
So while it’s true that race is not a biologically identifiable factor, like ethnicity, race determines people’s life outcomes and in that way, race matters very much.
