It actually profoundly bothers me when men who are pretty clearly only offering sex try to make a big deal out of making some big romantic gesture.
What that tells me is they don’t actually know what they have to offer or what is reasonable for them to expect in return.
It tells me that they’re willing to manipulate me into compromising myself so I will provide girlfriend benefits in exchange for probably very performative sex.
