It's ironic that so many humans reference the term "alpha" and think they're talking about wolves and the leaders of wolf packs. First of all, humans shot wolves from planes, and specifically, white colonizer humans shot wolves from planes as part of colonization, so let's not pretend that celebrating wolves now is not incredibly fraught. Second, the alpha role in wolf packs is highly structured and comes with tons of responsibilities. It is not lifelong and can be revoked at any point. The alpha is not the foremost warrior or the first to seek out new adventures. They are the Leader.
