I've honestly been pretty horrified by my forays into dating, and I don't mean that to say that the men I've encountered are inherently bad or unappealing. However, they don't seem any more competent at 30 than they did at 8 years old.

There's a lot of "hey can we maybe hang out in 6 months when I just so happen to be in the neighborhood what do you think" and "how could you not pick up on my completely silent request, don't you know it's your job to cater to my unspoken emotional needs" and "it's your job to be attractive and it's my job to worship you" and it's just tiring.

I want a partner. I know I am not perfect. I know I completely have a long way to go, but I'm trying really hard to grow into a whole person.

I Just need a partner who's trying to grow.
