I’ve seen students work hard through that class and get Ds or Fs. It depends very much on the institution. A student of color at a historically white institution can work themselves sick, I’ve seen it, and still never get ahead of the professor does not wish them to. There are barriers in place that go beyond just what students can control.
I’m in a graduate course right now that’s 4 hours long.
The Professor won’t respond to my accommodations. Won’t respond to another student with similar accommodations.
I have ADHD and he lectures with no slides or handouts, all verbal.
I can’t track his thought process.
Is that my fault?
It’s not meant to be a weeder class and yet, who is being weeded out?
