My last manager was responsible for grading my calls as a fundraiser. At the tail end of one really good shift, he gave me a failing grade on my last call of the day.
The client on the caller did not speak English.
I received a failing grade from him for not being able to communicate with somebody who did not speak my language.
I had already reported this particular supervisor to HR. HR had implemented policies designed to protect me. Those policies were not followed. Instead, HR expected me to bear the burden of this manager's incompetence.
I am not willing to do that if I have any other choice. Not any more. Time is way too short.
