Oh, but let’s not pretend that social rejection is anywhere near the pain of living under the threat of sexual violence.

Because that’s what all this is about. It’s not the way one guy leans too close or another guy keeps coming up to us when we don’t want him to. It’s the fact that all this happens in the same world that sexual violence happens. Women aren’t just repulsed or slightly put off. Women are scared. And we should be.

Guys who don’t get that fundamental truth about being a woman in this society really shouldn’t try with us. They don’t deserve to be successful.
