Once upon a time, Goddess was female and God was male, and we worshipped both…but perhaps we worshipped Her a bit more. We worshipped her first.
I think a lot of Her powers have now been called “magic” and those of us born with Her gifts have been taught to distrust ourselves or think of ourselves as crazy or foolish or over sensitive. It’s also part of colonization, right—strip away the religious powers of an indigenous nation, force their gender norms to mimic Western culture, turn their men and women against each other, deny the existence of third gender Healers or Shamans (or Witches).
