Personally I wonder how much of this “didn’t think about race” business is either branding or nonsense. She was raised by her Black mom and her mom’s family, but she never thought about it? Never asked questions?
Just seems like either there’s some serious abuse there, or I don’t know what.
But I don’t believe she didn’t think about it. Maybe I believe she learned to be ashamed of it. But not ignorant.
