Really? I think rich people shun others who haven't got what they do, but can recognize that these differences are not necessarily caused by different life choices or talents, but by circumstance. Most rich people are deeply invested in the idea of a meritocracy because it helps them sleep at night. If you challenge that, or don't believe in their superiority as reflected in their paycheck, they can't stand you.
