I think I will always be strange and abnormal in my responses to life’s most basic things. My experience is that people who have started to deal with their own childhood wounds are drawn to those of us who don’t fit in. People who are clinging hard to the appearance of normalcy are terrified to accept the idea that it’s ok to be different. It’s like we’re all trapped in elementary school forever, but some of us have figured out we don’t need to follow the teacher’s instructions and sit politely to survive. Others think the only way out is fantasy about how great it could be in another life.
I miss the world I thought I was growing up into.
