The men closest to me have not only not protected me, but have often been abusive to me. Men I’ve dated who have claimed to want to protect me have inevitably done nothing when it came to real violence being done. They apparently didn’t want to protect me nearly enough to fight their friends or men they felt intimidated by. Instead, they typically blamed me for being harmed or assaulted.
