There’s a difference between diagnosing someone as a narcissist vs describing abuse. Maybe psychiatrists are trained to diagnose personality disorders, maybe not, but lay people certainly are not.
Describing oneself as the survivor of abuse is one thing. Diagnosing someone else’s behavior is a slippery slope. What’s to stop my actual abuser from describing me as a narcissist, and using that to hide their own abuse? Nothing.
