Things get murky real fast once a person becomes a brand, and that brand becomes an ideology, don't they? I remember the exact historical moment when it became impossible to even question Beyonce's feminism without being accused of being 1) anti-sex and 2) racist, or at least pro-white feminism. That's some bullshit. Any individual's politics are available to debate if they are part of the public narrative.

More to the point, that historical moment when Beyonce became The Face of feminism was right about the same moment when Hilary Clinton lost her bid for the presidency.

Funny how important it suddenly became for feminism to be sexy (i.e. sexually available to men), "multicultural" (i.e. in bed with men of all shapes and sizes), and not politically powerful, hm?
