This character is Marina Crane from season 1. She's introduced as a "distant cousin" to the Featheringtons from somewhere in the grander UK isles. Given the racial makeup of that world, and the lack of exotification around her introduction similar to the sisters of the second season (who I think you're referring to), the expectation is that she fits this stereotype.

She has also been written about in academic terms as "the tragic mulatta".
