This seems like a lot. SSI/SSDI is not enough to keep anybody out of poverty, so anybody accepting government help for disability is in poverty.
Far too many people fall into poverty due to medical bills.
Long Covid has struck many people.
Chronic illness.
You come off pretty ignorant here to the reasons people are in poverty.
This seems like you’re looking for justification to set boundaries with a tiny number of individual people and you’re trying to extend that to literally more than half the country.
As a white person who is presently able to work, that’s a lot.
