Those dumb scenes were intended to be campy, I think. Maybe. ? They just really undercut the entire idea of Xena as a badass fighter, for me. Male superheroes get to be purely awesome, but Xena has to be awesome but also ridiculous so we never forget how ridiculous the idea of a female superhero is? Wut?
