True, unfortunately.

I don’t think most men can be. You’re excellent, clearly. And I don’t mean that sarcastically. But I think there’s this tendency for people to extrapolate from their own experiences, about stuff like this.

For example, I tend to assume that most white people are anti racist. But I hang out with racial justice activists! My crowd is self selecting.

And while it’s comforting to me to assume most white folks are like me, it’s not so helpful to the people of color out there doing war every day.

Similarly-figure every woman encounters some kind of sexism, from a comment to a form of harassment to outright besting every day, all across the world. She might not think of it in terms of sexism, maybe she has been trained to see patriarchy as a good thing..but it’s happening.

And while it’s not every guy, it’s like..how many guys have absolutely never once in their lives participated in that? Not many.
