When people lie, it’s often very telling.
The guy I was briefly hanging out with played me a romantic Lionel Ritchie song. When I didn’t respond, he told me he was putting together a playlist for his sister and did I have any recommendations, at the time, I thought it was kind of cute, maybe he was insecure, etc. But in retrospect, the fact that he leapt straight to such an obvious lie the moment he felt out of control or rejected? Big red flag.
