Women are made into art objects, whether we want to be seen in a decorative way or not. We’re seen that way even when it’s inappropriate, like in a professional setting or by a stranger on the street. Wanting to be viewed as attractive is perfectly reasonable. The point is letting women choose how to be seen, and insisting that men respond to the deliberate cues women send rather than view us through a pornographic lens.
