Wow. There’s so much privilege present in this article, and the author’s attempt to highlight her background to distract attention from that is a cheap trick.
Those of us who experience chronic illness or medical emergencies, severe disabilities or unexpected pregnancy, addiction or the unexpected need to care for an aging parent, or any of a hundred different life events that decrease our earning power through no fault of our own? We’re “slackers.”
