You shouldn’t “should” other people! It’s their right to marry as soon as they want.
You should be honest though. If you say you’re dating because you’re interested in marriage, then be willing to commit to the relationship. If you’re dating to find out what you want, then you should be up front about that, in words, not assume it’s just “understood.”
If you’re just dating, both of you should be seeing other people and you shouldn’t move in together.
Men act like women are cars they can lease with a buy option.
Women go in thinking if they do a good enough job, they’ll keep him.
The only solution is actual conversation. BOTH people are responsible for that.
If you can’t take responsibility for your partner’s needs enough to make sure you’re both on the same page about what’s happening between you and why, then you are not emotionally ready for marriage.
