You’re misunderstanding the difference between essential existence and social existence. Most of society exists by mutual agreement. Streets, for example, would cease to have meaning if we all quit obeying their instructions tomorrow. That doesn’t mean streets are useless as constructs.
Queer theory may threaten your sense of self but that says more about you than about queer theory.
