You’re not trying to have a conversation about victims in a theoretical sense. You’re trying to say that you personally want more attention. Fine. But you can personally feel neglected while still acknowledging that male victims are believed, male victims are taken more seriously, and the rape of males is treated as a bigger deal. Anybody watching Weinstein vs Spacey could see that. Anybody watching the outcry over the Catholic Church vs the ongoing condemnation of Hollywood’s female victims would see that.
You matter. But so does the rest of the world. Including the women in it.
Some white women absolutely think me too is about them. And they’re wrong. But your attempts to reposition men at its center are the exact same move. And you’re just as wrong.
